LINDSAY MELLOR

Conductor Lindsay Mellor is a passionate musician and gifted teacher. Underlying her work is a
commitment to excellence, evident as she encourages musicians to continuously strive to reach
new personal bests. Music Director of the Fraser Valley Symphony since 2000, she has worked
for many years with very talented community musicians to provide performances for their
communities that are of high quality, and eminently enjoyable. New audience members are
frequently heard to express their delight in the calibre of FVS performances - a testament to the
achievements of the musicians under her leadership.

In addition to her work with this orchestra, Ms. Mellor frequently guest conducts in the lower
Mainland. She has led the Prince George Symphony Orchestra, West Coast Symphony,
Vancouver Philharmonic Orchestra, Delta Senior Youth Orchestra and Delta Community
Concert Band in performances. From 2002-2008 she was Artistic Director of the Chilliwack
Symphony Orchestra. Lindsay has been a guest speaker, clinician, and adjudicator for many
organisations, including the Pacific Northwest Music Festival, Kiwanis Music Festival,
Abbotsford Registered Music Teachers' Association, Langley Community Music School, Delia
Youth Orchestra, Surrey Youth Symphony, and the BC Music Educators' Association. She has
also served as the orchestra conductor on faculty for the West Coast Amateur Musicians'
Society summer camp.

After completing her Bachelor of Music studying violin at the University of Victoria, where she
was Assistant Conductor of the University Orchestra, Lindsay continued her conducting
studies at international workshops in Canada and the Czech Republic. Ms. Mellor has studied
with world-renowned Maestro Gustav Meier, Tsung Yeh, Kirk Trevor, Johannes Schlaefli, and
